About Me

I left home at 17 years old to join the United States Navy. After graduating from boot camp as an Honor Recruit, I went on to place high enough in my initial training to land 1 of 6 seats in a CAAHEP Accredited Neurodiagnostic Technologist program. A year later I found myself on my first international flight to Japan, where I would get to live for the next 4 years.

I quickly established myself as a technologist. As I identified inefficiencies in standard processes, I iterated through optimal solutions and even obtained my Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. In my off time I started a Coalition of Sailors Against Destructive Decisions Chapter and the spearheaded the “Not A Drop” campaign to combat a high volume of alcohol related incidents among service members. This led to my command going over one year without a DUI (the BAC limit in Japan is 0.03)! In 2017, I was recognized as Junior Sailor of the Year for Naval Hospital Okinawa.

My next assignment was to Pensacola, FL where I have been given the opportunity to lead Junior Sailors. As a manager of 5 specialty clinics and 19 staff, I learned a lot about myself, further developed my skills as a technologist, and enjoyed fostering professional development in the workplace. A preoccupation with high quality patient care resulted in two successful Joint Commission surveys and 100% compliance with staff training and competency requirements.

Currently I am spreading my neurodiagnostic knowledge to the next generation of military technologists as an instructor at Medical Education and Training Campus, San Antonio, TX. In this role I provide instruction in both the classroom and laboratory setting, develop curriculum, and coordinate clinical experience for Navy and Air Force students entering the neurodiagnostic community.

Simultaneous to my position as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist, I have held positions as an Executive Assistant, Career Counselor, and an MHS GENESIS Training Coordinator / Training Roles Manager. These positions have developed my ability to manage programs, bolstered my written and verbal communication skills, and exposed me to working with large scale/asynchronous operations.
